Breathe. Your next set is coming.

The problem
You re-racked the bar, sat down and picked up your phone. That is the workout you actually did. Not the one you planned.
How it works
Most timers need you to start them. You forget, because you are under a bar when it matters. GymFocus does not ask.
Anywhere from 10 seconds to 5 minutes. Every rest is measured against it, so an overrun stays an overrun.
Screen off means you are doing a set. Nothing to press, nothing to remember. Your phone can stay face down on the bench.
Hit the limit and GymFocus calls you back. Heavy set and you genuinely need longer? One tap adds 50%, once per rest.
Modes
Pick the one that fits how you train. Switch any time before a workout.
Unlock it and the rest starts. Zero taps for the whole workout. It works with notifications alone, no extra permissions.
Music, video, workout notes. A floating capsule sits on top of any app and shows your rest. One tap per set.
Smart mode looks at how the phone is held and what kind of app is in front, scores the distraction and reacts. All of it is evaluated on your phone, in memory.
Alerts
From a quiet nudge to a wake-up call. Pick what actually gets you off the bench.
Clear vibration and full sound.
Visual preview. No sound plays.
Short signals for training with music in your ears, an upbeat coach, or a drill sergeant with no patience for your sixth minute.
Heavy set? One tap extends the rest by half. Once per rest, so it stays an exception instead of a habit.
The alert does not wait for you to come back to GymFocus. It finds you wherever the rest went.
After the workout
Every rest, measured against your limit. No spreadsheet, no guessing.
How many rests stayed inside the limit. One number to beat next time.
How long the session took, and how long it would have taken without the overruns.
Every rest against the limit, so you can see exactly where the scroll started.
7 of 9 rests within your limit
The workout took 52:00. Without overruns it would have taken 41:20.

Take a week off and it survives. Get sloppy and it does not. Milestones at 3, 7, 14, 30, 60 and 100 disciplined workouts.

What it is not
GymFocus does not know what you are lifting and never asks, because your phone is face down on a bench while you lift. It takes rest seriously and leaves the rest of your training to you.
Privacy
No accounts. No cloud sync. No analytics on how you train. Uninstall the app and your history is gone. We could not recover it even if you asked, because we never had it.
To be straight with you: the free plan shows ads served by Google AdMob, which uses device and advertising identifiers. Pro has no ads. Your training data is never part of it.

FAQ
Yes. The free plan includes the rest timer, alerts, rest extensions, Screen detection and Overlay modes, the post-workout summary, four achievements and your last seven workouts. It shows ads. Pro adds Smart mode, full workout analysis, weekly and monthly stats, unlimited history and all achievements, and removes ads.
No. In Screen detection mode, locking and unlocking the phone is all it takes. The timer keeps running in the background with the screen off, and the alert reaches you in whatever app you are in.
Screen detection works with notifications alone. Overlay mode asks to display over other apps, and Smart mode asks for usage access. Each permission is requested only when you switch on the feature that needs it.
One tap adds 50% to the rest you are in. You get it once per rest, so it stays an exception instead of becoming a habit.
The app is available in English and Polish. Voice cues are in English.
Not yet. GymFocus is built for Android 8.0 and later.
